Matthew Pelo

Founder & Principal Consultant

I started Unbuilt because I kept seeing the same problem: companies with ambitious ideas and no clear path from concept to production. They'd hire big consultancies and get decks. They'd hire agencies and get code without strategy. Neither worked.

My background is in building — I've led product and engineering teams, architected systems from zero to scale, and shipped AI-powered products before most companies had an AI strategy. I started as an engineer, moved into product, and found my sweet spot at the intersection of both.

Now I work directly with founders and technical leaders as a hands-on partner. No team of juniors. No bait-and-switch. When you hire Unbuilt, you get me — and the full weight of experience that comes with building products across fintech, healthcare, SaaS, and early-stage startups.
